Empowering Young People Through Art-Based Advocacy in South Sudan

Through the support from World YWCA Advocates Programme, young people in South Sudan are gaining essential knowledge on menstrual hygiene management, child protection, and drug abuse prevention using creative, art-based approaches.

By using art as a tool for learning and expression, the initiative is helping break stigma, encourage open dialogue, and make important information more accessible within communities. The programme continues to empower young people as advocates and change-makers, promoting awareness and positive social change at the community level.

It was my pleasure to facilitate the practical session on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), where participants learned about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the importance of supporting girls and young women to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.
