I recently held an inclusive, age-appropriate session with upper primary learners to raise awareness about Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). Through games, discussions, and a group pledge, learners explored respect, personal boundaries, and how to speak up against harmful behavior.
Highlights included:
- 💬 Safe space creation with learner-led ground rules
- 🧵 “Respect Line” game using tactile tools for unity and inclusion
- 🧠 SGBV awareness talk in clear, respectful language
- 🫶 Safety & Support Circle identifying trusted adults
- ✊ Empowerment pledge to protect themselves and others
Learners were fully engaged-asking questions, sharing reflections, and showing real understanding. The session fostered kindness, confidence, and community support, with all learners, including those with disabilities, participating actively.
Let’s keep building safer, more inclusive schools, where every child feels respected, supported, and empowered.
